Steve is through surgery

UPDATE 6-24-10 4:35EST
Just heard from the post-op nurse.  Steve has been successfully extubated!!!  He is headed up to ICU now and we will hopefully be allowed to see him at 5pm.  Pure joy!  Please pray as he comes to consciousness, for peace and pain management.  I am deeply encouraged and grateful! – Michelle

Praise God, praise God, praise God!  I just spoke with Steve’s surgeon and he has come through surgery fine!

Please pray now especially that his lungs and breathing will be stable so that they will be able to immediately extubate him!!!!

Please also pray that he will manage sedation and pain well, and be peaceful.

Inside I am literally jumping up and down for joy!  So grateful for your many prayers which carry us all.

    Father,
Thank you for this great news about Steve's completion of surgery. Thank you that he was successfully extubated! Thank you that in mere minutes Michelle will be able to be with her beloved husband. Thank you God, because you are good. I pray that when Steves regains consciousness he would look in to the loving eyes of his wife with a smile on his face. I pray for your peaceful presence to be known in that room. I pray that you would give the doctors real insight and discernment about managing Steve's pain, from the dosage to the type of pain medications. I pray this in faith. I pray for the psychotic and delirious episodes that Steve has been having. I pray that he would experience only positive things….moments in your presence, with his wife and family, visions and dreams that come from your holy spirit. Protect that room from fear, anxiety, hopelessness, and any negative thought in Jesus name. I pray that you would give the doctors wisdom and discernment about how to manage the delirium. Jesus, we call out to you for this. Bless his body, as it heals. Keep the inflammation down. I pray against fevers. I pray against infections–in Jesus name. For in the name of Jesus there is power and healing and peace. Thank you Father that you are present and that you are in control. Amen
