A note from Steve’s sister Kim Fessel:

Hello everyone. I am Steve’s sister Kim. I too, would like to extend a huge heartfelt thank you to all who have held Steve, Michelle and our entire family in your thoughts and prayers.

I look back at all of that has transpired over the past 15 days and I see God’s hand at work. I think my brother Mike so beautifully acknowledged and thanked everyone involved in Steve’s care both behind the scenes and in the forefront, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank each person and family that has written on Steve’s guestbook. Wow…you are amazing!

Please know your words have touched my heart so deeply and the tears I have shed, which have been many, are gently wiped away with your prayers, bible verses, poem, lyrics, stories of courage and faith, and your words of hope and love for a man and a family many of you have never met.

For me…that knowing is miraculous. To think of thousands of people across this vast world all united in thought and prayer for this extraordinary man and woman and his family. Truly, may God bless each and every one of you abundantly.

For now it is one day at a time. I know God has a special plan for you, my beloved brother, one filled with hope and love and peace. I know I love you with all my heart. And lastly I know I have always held a special place in your heart, and after a long talk or written in a card, you used to say to me “you are my hero, don’t ever forget that.”  So now dear brother, I am saying it back to you…you are my hero, don’t ever forget that…

So go do what you do best. Shine a light for the world to see…

    if Christians were to become mirrors of God's light, you must be the super polished mirror they installed on the hubble telescope. hours of painstaking buffing and polishing to be amazingly reflective. Go Pastor Steve Go! Let your light shine for everyone to see, and when we see you shine may you bring the Father praise…

    What beautiful words you share with all. And what special thoughts and words to Steve. The entire Ruetschle family has such a strong faith and show everyone that they know God is working. Steve, as well as his family are shining the light for all the world to see.

    Kim.. what a special place you have in this family of men. Certain you and your mom stick together.
    Your family seems to love adventure and is courageous. Those are traits much needed at this time.
    The Lord is near unto those who are broken hearted. He gives courage and strength in the midst of adversity. Praise God for the faith and optimism and love you each display. God is gathering your tears ..every one of them and saving them. He also collects prayers of His saints. Being a nurse, we have a doctor and nurse in our family, is good and bad. You know too much. May God keep your eyes on Him and off the circumstances and the up and downs of the daily reports. God sees the big picture and has a plan. Blessings and prayers..     To date you have had 63205 page views…..meaning 63205 people are exposed to your faith, your wisdom and your hope.

    Please continue with your live updates and your bible verses…it inspires people. I for one try to read your postings every day……I do not read the bible every day…..nor do I pray every day….perhaps, just perhaps I can change my ways by connecting to your site…..

    And I did pray for Steve, and I do hope he makes a good recovery. So please continue with your updates. If you can inspre me, a non practising Christian…beleive me…you can inpsire a lot of people.

    Several times a day, I come to this site and am filled with the Holy Spirit of God. Here, people gather together to worship, to cry out to God, to praise, to hope, to encourage, to bless and in turn… are blessed.

    Steve and Michelle, you are surrounded by thousands of people who are loving you, and in the act of loving you, they are loving God. Thank you for letting us walk with you on this journey and for allowing us to help carry burdens along the way. It is a gift to each of us.

    Prayers for…. peace, sleep, relief from pain, ever more movement in fingers and toes….for courage to go forward each new day, leaning into God's grace, goodness.

    Dear Kim, I check here regularly for updates on Steve and your entire family. Your family's Faith is so inspiring and God is doing so much good through all of you as you share updates with everyone. It shines through in every word written from each of you. He is there with all of you every step of the way. Even through this tragedy, your family is touching so many people across this vast world in such an uplifting manner. God has many good plans ahead for Steve and all of you. He is teaching all of us so many positive lessons through each and every member of your family already, and I know there is so much more to come. I will continue to pray for all of you every day. I will be back out in Washington soon and if there is anything out there I can do to be of help or assistance for any of you, please don't hesitate to call. And if you will be out there, let me know.
